Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam. It is a mandatory spiritual obligation for every adult Muslim who owns wealth equal to or above the threshold of Nisab for a continuous lunar year.
What is Nisab? Nisab is the minimum threshold of assets a Muslim must possess before Zakat becomes obligatory. If your total qualifying assets meet or exceed Nisab, you must pay 2.5% of that wealth as Zakat.

Zakat is compulsory for every sane, adult Muslim whose net qualifying wealth (after deducting immediate liabilities and core basic needs) meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold for a full lunar year.
It means every single penny of your Zakat goes directly to eligible poor families on the ground. We cover all overheads and administrative costs through separate general donations.
Most contemporary scholars recommend using the Silver Nisab threshold, as it is lower and allows more people to participate in Zakat to benefit more poor recipients.
Yes. Under the Hanafi school of thought, Zakat is due on all gold and silver assets, including personal jewelry, valued at the current market rate, if the Nisab threshold is met.
